Peek Into Instagram

Hey y'all! I said in a previous post I post daily on Instagram (@corkyree). Not always a full outfit but I thought I'd share a few of my close up Instagram outfit posts. I also decided to cut my hair on Wednesday! I chopped about 5-6 inches off and got rid of all the ombré. It was very brittle from all the bleach that had been on it so I decided a new style would be the way to start over! I'm heading home to see my mamma & for my best friends birthday in Ohio this weekend! One of my best friends from San Antonio is coming with me, she's always wanted to see where I grew up, 'cause it's the cutest town ever! I'll share pics when I return to Nashville.

Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend! xO

Derby Inspired... Yes, I'm a Bit Late

So, I know the Derby was 2 months ago, but this is one of my favorite pool looks so I'm posting it even if it is 2 months later. We were spending time with family poolside during the Derby so I decided to wear my floppy hat with an easy dress and swim suit! My pup, (he's actually an old man at 8 years old) Rascal, had to photobomb because he always has to be close to me! Thanks to my sister, Steph who is always being my photographer- love you sis!

Floppy Hat: Walmart, last year
Polka Dot Dress: Forever 21, $15.80 (old)

At Home Gel Manicures

Hi loves! So, my sister and I love getting gel manicures. We have many reasons why we love them! A few are that they last way longer than your typical manicure, they are very shiny, help grow out your nails and they are dry within seconds! However, they have gone up in price at the salons just within the last year. We decided to try out the Sally Hansen At-Home version. Just under $50 at Walmart! The kit came with a neutral, light pink color called "Shall We Dance". I also bought a bright red to try called "Red My Lips". Both colors are gorgeous! Also, they lasted just as long as when we got them done at the salon! So this baby is awesome and I can't wait to get more colors! Here's a couple pictures of my two at-home gel mani's!

Sally Hansen Gel Color "Shall We Dance". I was also wishing on Spring in a coral top from Old Navy & a floral scarf from Target.

Sally Hansen Gel Color "Red My Lips".

These pictures are both from my Instagram: Follow me @ corkyree :)

Have any of you tried an at-home gel manicure kit? If so, which brand have you used and do you recommend them? What are your favorite colors?

Red Skinnies & Black Boots

Hey y'all! So the day after Christmas, is just as crazy as the last few days before Christmas. People are out returning things and spending gift cards/money they got for Christmas. Stores do have awesome sales going on, trying to get rid of inventory by the end of the year because their Spring items will be in stores very soon. I went shopping with my best friend Marissa. After shopping we had dinner & drinks at TGI Friday's and had the best time! We giggled like we were back in high school. :) Laughter really is the best medicine! After that, we headed back to our town and went to one of the local bars and got to hang out with so many of our friends. Once the bar closed, we headed to a friends house to play card games and just hang out. So much fun, I'm truly blessed to still be close with my friends I grew up with! Anyways, here's my outfit from that day!

Black Jacket: A'Gaci
Cream Sweater: Old Navy
Floral Scarf: Walmart
Red Skinnies: Walmart
Black Boots: Target
Black Purse: NY&Co.

My mamma's front porch was just the cutest! Our home was featured in our town's Christmas Historical Home Tour this year. (Our house is over 100 years old) So I had to get pictures taken on it at least once!

Do you guys do any shopping and/or returning the day after Christmas?

Dressed like a Present

Hello lovies! I have my Christmas Eve outfit to share with y'all today. I'm always too far behind but I still want to share it! My sister and I had this bright idea that we were going to make those DIY tutus........ Let's just say, they looked better in our heads than in real life! I think I might just have to suck it up and buy one that's already made! The ones I like, of course come with a hefty price tag for something you wouldn't wear very often. So, my mom actually let me open one of my gifts early because she knew this skirt would work perfectly. She was right! I just threw on a ribbon, gold accessories and my red bow heels and I felt like I was wrapped like a present. Since it was Christmas Eve, I was totally okay with that. We went to our church's Christmas Eve service, then headed to my grandparents house for our traditional dinner (prime rib and oh so many goodies). We then sit by the tree and fireplace and all take turns opening gifts. It's always a relaxing, enjoyable night.

Love my mamma!

First, my sister! Then my best friend and also my boss!

Two Pretty Manicures

Hi y'all! I wanted to share a couple more manicures of mine. The first one is one I did myself at home and the second is a gel manicure I got done at a salon. I know I've already told y'all before, but I have a nail polish addiction! I hate when my nails aren't painted! I wanted something festive but not exactly Christmas since it was still a couple weeks out from Christmas, so mint and gold glitter it was! One of my favorite nail looks is the confetti manicure! When it got closer to Christmas, I of course had to do red sparkly nails! Thanks to my awesome boss (and sister), she scheduled us to get our nails done as one of our employee Christmas gifts! How awesome is that? Well, here's the two looks!

Top manicure: "I need a refresh-mint", Wet n' Wild
"Gold's Night Out" OPI by Selena Gomez

Bottom manicure: I forgot to get the names of these! It's two separate red gel polishes. She used a metallic red for the 2 base coats and then topped them off with a sparkly top coat. When I was trying to pick a color, she suggested I go for this, she called the look "Dorothy's Ruby Slippers", which I totally agree!

It's been on almost 2 weeks and no chips yet! I love getting gel manicures because they last so much longer! I really wanted to get them redone for New Years but they still look good so I'll probably keep them for a little while more.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family & friends! I have several outfit posts coming! I didn't want to cram them all into the same post so they'll be posted separately. Thanks for reading! :)

Crocheted Lace Tank

I am such a girly-girl so when I saw this tank I jumped on it! It's so delicate looking. This is going to be a staple for me for the rest of the summer! My sister is in town from Tennessee because she leaves for Haiti on Thursday with our church here in Ohio. Tonight we went to dinner with our parents to the Mexican restaurant here in town. Afterwards we walked to the covered bridge and I asked my sister to take some pictures for me. I love this outfit and will probably be wearing it several more times also while changing it up a bit.

Crocheted Lace Tank: Body Central $19.80
Tan Tank (underneath): Old Navy $3.50
Red Jeans: Walmart $15.88

Memorial Day

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day! I had a very fun-filled one. I got to sleep in, lay out with my best friend, had a cookout, went to the cemetery to visit a friend and went out for drinks on a patio! Here's a few pictures from throughout the day. I ended up throwing on dark wash jean shorts instead of the skirt because I felt too dressy for what I had planned! Of course I had to be patriotic! I am so thankful to be an American. As a country we might be struggling on some things but would you honestly want to live somewhere else, cause I wouldn't! I also planned on having a blue nail in my mani but I could not get my brand new bottle of blue nail polish open so I had to just stick to red & white!

Lace top: Old Navy, clearance $7.49
Navy pleated skirt: Forever 21 $15.80
Silver belt: Body Central $1.90
Navy sandals: Old Navy $19.99
Watch: Walmart $10.48
