Thanksgiving 2013

Hi lovelies! Hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  My sister and I closed up shop so we could travel up to Ohio for our mom's side Thanksgiving. We also got to see all of our friends at our hometown bar!  Always good when you get to catch up with everyone. Then we traveled back to Nashville on Friday because our dad's side Thanksgiving was earlier today. My sister and I also held a baby shower for our cousin at our house today too. We've been super busy lately, we are exhausted. With Christmas coming up, there's no slowing down either! Blessed to busy though! Also, my sister and I decided to "honey-dip" our hair, late last Thursday night. Well... mine turned auburn. Luckily we were able to get it to a shade I was okay with keeping. (Only took THREE tries!) First try, I looked like carrot top- not a good look! I won't be keeping this look, though friends & family say they like it a lot, but it's just not what I was going for! So here's my lighter look & also posted my Thanksgiving day outfit.

Sunshine Award

Hey Y'all!

So a couple days ago, Jo from Loving Life in the Fab Lane, nominated me for the Sunshine Award. Thank you Jo! She asked me some questions which I have to post, then I nominate people for the award also and ask them questions too!

Here are the questions from Jo:

1. What is your favorite holiday and memory of that holiday?

Thanksgiving has to be my favorite! The night before Thanksgiving, I get to see almost ALL of my friends down at our local bar, always a good time with everyone! Then I get to spend all day Thanksgiving day with my family! And of course, THE FOOD!! I love to eat, so this is my idea of a perfect day! :)

2. If you could choose one celeb to be your BFF, who would it be and why?

Zac Efron, the good Lord did good on him! He is gorgeous and seems like a cool guy to hang out with!

3. What is the last thing you took a picture of?

My kitten, Annabel!

4. What is one random fact about yourself?

I fell off a roof/ladder when I was 15, on a mission trip in Oklahoma. Had to be care-flighted, that was pretty scary since my mamma wasn't there!

5. If there was a reality show about your life, what would the theme song be?

Right now, it would be Roar by Katy Perry. I've been through a lot this past year but I have become stronger and I'm actually happier than I have ever been!

6. Do you have a charity or are you an advocate for a cause that means a lot to you?

Well, I'm not an advocate for any however, there are a couple organizations that mean a lot to me. Here's 2:

7. What inspired you to start blogging?

I love fashion & beauty! My sister told me I should start a blog, so I did! I don't do it enough but I love it!

8. What is your absolute favorite movie of all time?

My Best Friend's Wedding... Julia Roberts & Dermot Mulroney, I don't think I need to explain anymore! :)

9. What is the number one thing on your bucket list?

I don't really have a bucket list. I would love to travel the world so I'll say that!

10. Have you ever had a recurring dream? If so, what happens in it?

I have... more of a nightmare actually. My best friend was killed in a car accident our senior year of high school and I kept dreaming about her accident.

Typical Fall Outfit

This outfit is actually from a month ago! I never got around to posting it, so since I can't sleep I decided to look through pictures from my mom's visit in October and found these! Oops! Better late than never I guess. This day was a perfect fall day. We went to lunch and shopping at several antique malls, so an easy, typical fall outfit was my go to! Who doesn't love scarves & boots? If you don't, we probably couldn't be friends! :)

Brights For Fall

It's no secret that Fall is my favorite season! I love watching the trees change colors! Fall fashion is my favorite with scarves & jackets, there are endless possibilities! Today, I ran some errands during work with my sister, who is also my awesome boss! Also had some fun playing in the leaves at home! Our yard is so pretty right now! This outfit literally has all of my favorite things: leather, black & white, stripes, floral, leopard, gold & pink! It also shows you that you can wear brights in the fall. I like to pair brights with neutrals or black like I did today!

Cobalt & Grey

Last Thursday, I had the honor of going to The Southern Coterie Summit Sessions held in Nashville. I went with my sister (who I work for). She wanted me to get more familiar with her world and it was so fun! I learned a lot and met a lot of wonderful ladies that are right here in the Nashville area. All morning/afternoon we listened to several different speakers on various topics and got to try all kinds of goodies. Then for the evening portion, we had Cocktails & Conversation that was held at the Southern Living Idea House. We got to tour it all- gorgeous! Also got to meet the Editor in Chief of Southern Living, Lindsay Bierman! Super cool! Anyways, during the day I wore a ruffled purple tank with a light purple cardigan, dark skinnies, and nude flats. You didn't have to change for the evening portion but we did and so did most everyone else since we were having "cocktail hour". I now love love love cobalt blue with grey. I need to come up with more of this combination because I just love how the bright blue pops!

Neutral Fall Outfit

I love wearing neutrals! It gives you a blank canvas that's so easy to add accessories for a put together look. I wore this to meet up with friends while I was visiting in Ohio. It was pretty cool so I threw on my LC | Lauren Conrad leather jacket (as seen in this post) before I left but didn't get any pictures of that. There are many other options I could have worn with these neutral basics but here's what I put together!

Manicure Monday

Hey Y'all! How's it been over a month since I last posted? It doesn't seem like that long ago! So Fall is my absolute favorite season, yet I had a hard time transitioning into it! This summer was a blast and I guess I didn't want it to end! Well, since I posted last, there's lots that has gone on. My sister and I moved into a house together and y'all, it is just the cutest thing! Like a real life doll house! Pictures to come once everything is in it's place! :) Also I made a trip home to Ohio for one of my best friend's wedding. I was there for 2 weekends, first being her bridal shower and bachelorette party then the following her wedding. I was so honored to be by her side for such a special day. I'll share a few pictures of that in a different post! It was back to reality on Monday, had a busy work week and then this past Saturday, I went to the Luke Bryan concert. Spending Sweetest Day with him was perfect! ;) Now that I'm back home I was ready to get in the Halloween spirit. Easiest way for me to do that was a pretty orange & gold mani! Simple yet festive enough!
