Dressed like a Present

Hello lovies! I have my Christmas Eve outfit to share with y'all today. I'm always too far behind but I still want to share it! My sister and I had this bright idea that we were going to make those DIY tutus........ Let's just say, they looked better in our heads than in real life! I think I might just have to suck it up and buy one that's already made! The ones I like, of course come with a hefty price tag for something you wouldn't wear very often. So, my mom actually let me open one of my gifts early because she knew this skirt would work perfectly. She was right! I just threw on a ribbon, gold accessories and my red bow heels and I felt like I was wrapped like a present. Since it was Christmas Eve, I was totally okay with that. We went to our church's Christmas Eve service, then headed to my grandparents house for our traditional dinner (prime rib and oh so many goodies). We then sit by the tree and fireplace and all take turns opening gifts. It's always a relaxing, enjoyable night.

Love my mamma!

First, my sister! Then my best friend and also my boss!

Two Pretty Manicures

Hi y'all! I wanted to share a couple more manicures of mine. The first one is one I did myself at home and the second is a gel manicure I got done at a salon. I know I've already told y'all before, but I have a nail polish addiction! I hate when my nails aren't painted! I wanted something festive but not exactly Christmas since it was still a couple weeks out from Christmas, so mint and gold glitter it was! One of my favorite nail looks is the confetti manicure! When it got closer to Christmas, I of course had to do red sparkly nails! Thanks to my awesome boss (and sister), she scheduled us to get our nails done as one of our employee Christmas gifts! How awesome is that? Well, here's the two looks!

Top manicure: "I need a refresh-mint", Wet n' Wild
"Gold's Night Out" OPI by Selena Gomez

Bottom manicure: I forgot to get the names of these! It's two separate red gel polishes. She used a metallic red for the 2 base coats and then topped them off with a sparkly top coat. When I was trying to pick a color, she suggested I go for this, she called the look "Dorothy's Ruby Slippers", which I totally agree!

It's been on almost 2 weeks and no chips yet! I love getting gel manicures because they last so much longer! I really wanted to get them redone for New Years but they still look good so I'll probably keep them for a little while more.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family & friends! I have several outfit posts coming! I didn't want to cram them all into the same post so they'll be posted separately. Thanks for reading! :)

How 'bout a Beauty Post?

Hey y'all! I haven't taken any outfit pictures since my last post but have a couple things I can share! First up, is a manicure I did about 2 weeks ago! It's very monochromatic with the black, white and silver, but I LOVED it! Pretty simple but it made a statement! Nails are the easiest way to do that! The next is my hair! My sister and I decided to try balayage. It's more natural looking than ombré. It's taken SEVERAL tries to get it to where it is now and thankfully, I'm happy with it!

Cobalt & Grey

Last Thursday, I had the honor of going to The Southern Coterie Summit Sessions held in Nashville. I went with my sister (who I work for). She wanted me to get more familiar with her world and it was so fun! I learned a lot and met a lot of wonderful ladies that are right here in the Nashville area. All morning/afternoon we listened to several different speakers on various topics and got to try all kinds of goodies. Then for the evening portion, we had Cocktails & Conversation that was held at the Southern Living Idea House. We got to tour it all- gorgeous! Also got to meet the Editor in Chief of Southern Living, Lindsay Bierman! Super cool! Anyways, during the day I wore a ruffled purple tank with a light purple cardigan, dark skinnies, and nude flats. You didn't have to change for the evening portion but we did and so did most everyone else since we were having "cocktail hour". I now love love love cobalt blue with grey. I need to come up with more of this combination because I just love how the bright blue pops!

Neutral Fall Outfit

I love wearing neutrals! It gives you a blank canvas that's so easy to add accessories for a put together look. I wore this to meet up with friends while I was visiting in Ohio. It was pretty cool so I threw on my LC | Lauren Conrad leather jacket (as seen in this post) before I left but didn't get any pictures of that. There are many other options I could have worn with these neutral basics but here's what I put together!

Ivory Cardigan: Target
Nude Cami: Old Navy
Scarf: Body Central
Skinnies: Old Navy
Gold Sparkly Flats: Walmart
Gold Watch: Target

My camera on my iPhone is out of whack so these aren't the greatest but still wanted to share!

Manicure Monday

Hey Y'all! How's it been over a month since I last posted? It doesn't seem like that long ago! So Fall is my absolute favorite season, yet I had a hard time transitioning into it! This summer was a blast and I guess I didn't want it to end! Well, since I posted last, there's lots that has gone on. My sister and I moved into a house together and y'all, it is just the cutest thing! Like a real life doll house! Pictures to come once everything is in it's place! :) Also I made a trip home to Ohio for one of my best friend's wedding. I was there for 2 weekends, first being her bridal shower and bachelorette party then the following her wedding. I was so honored to be by her side for such a special day. I'll share a few pictures of that in a different post! It was back to reality on Monday, had a busy work week and then this past Saturday, I went to the Luke Bryan concert. Spending Sweetest Day with him was perfect! ;) Now that I'm back home I was ready to get in the Halloween spirit. Easiest way for me to do that was a pretty orange & gold mani! Simple yet festive enough!

Gold Sparkles: Maybelline Color Show, Sequins Collection in "Gold's Night Out

Camo Jacket Gets Dressed Up

I have had this camo jacket for awhile now, but I still love it! It's light enough to transition into fall but still sturdy/thick enough that it keeps the wind out. Military trend has been all the buzz and I love dressing it up. Mixing patterns and textures, throwing on some neutral accessories and you can look put together but like you didn't try that hard. That's always a win-win for me! This dress is a super comfortable cotton dress that I've styled on here before with a denim blazer and leopard heels (seen here). If you want to see the other way I wore this jacket, take a look at this post here. Wore this to work today, which ended up being at Panera Bread! Our internet didn't want to work today so we needed somewhere with free wi-fi.

Pink Shorts

I wore this outfit before Labor Day, so my white sandals were allowed! I know they say it's okay to still wear white after labor day, but I just can't do it! My mom and grandma taught me that tradition and I'll probably stick to it the rest of my life! Anyways, I wore this outfit to work! I love the bright necklace against the white to pop!

I just couldn't pass it up though and knew I could wear it this year! I love the cut/style of this dress. It's girly and flirty and flattering which is always a plus! I paired it with gold sandals and some gold/coral earrings! Sunshine from head to toe and I loved it!

I wore this to work this past week and had my sister snap some photos for me! Also, just received my Stephanie Creekmur 2014 planner and was SO excited to start using it right away! (As you can see pictured below) It's an 18 month that started August 2013 and goes through to January 2015! It's so colorful, has floral & gingham prints and it is just the cutest thing! You can order one here. Promise you'll love it!

Flirty Little Black Dress

I wore this cute little thing to church and out to lunch with my family afterwards. I did wear a white cardigan over it to church, I just didn't take pictures with that on. Can I talk about these wedges for a second? They are adorable and actually very comfortable! You can always count on Target for cute finds!

Floral with Black & Gold

I wore this outfit a couple weekends ago but just finally uploaded them to my computer! I've been better about taking pictures but slacking on the uploading and editing of them. I blame that on summertime and to be honest, I'm okay with that! This summer is halfway over and that makes me pretty sad! This has been one of the best summers I've had and I still have many things to look forward too! Anyways, I've said this before and I'll say it again, I love when I find cute items that are inexpensive but don't look cheap. I'm definitely a pro bargain shopper! My mamma and I went to dinner and shopping one night a couple weekends ago and I felt like dressing up a little bit more than I usually would for something like that. I then had her be my photographer and snap some pictures for me before we left the house.

Memorial Day

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day! I had a very fun-filled one. I got to sleep in, lay out with my best friend, had a cookout, went to the cemetery to visit a friend and went out for drinks on a patio! Here's a few pictures from throughout the day. I ended up throwing on dark wash jean shorts instead of the skirt because I felt too dressy for what I had planned! Of course I had to be patriotic! I am so thankful to be an American. As a country we might be struggling on some things but would you honestly want to live somewhere else, cause I wouldn't! I also planned on having a blue nail in my mani but I could not get my brand new bottle of blue nail polish open so I had to just stick to red & white!

Navy pleated skirt: Forever 21 $15.80
Silver belt: Body Central $1.90
