Farewell 2013!

Well hello! I woke up at 4:30 am and could not fall back to sleep. After laying there I decided to just get up! I got myself a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee and snuggled up on the couch with my Rascal baby. I just finished a few updates on my computer and decided to look back on this year. I honestly can't believe this year has come to an end. It has been the best, worst, scariest, and most awesome year all wrapped up into one. It's been one full year trying to figure out my diabetes (that's been the scary and worst part of the year). I've learned so much but have so far to go still. I also became single after an 8 year relationship. I was 17 years old the last time I was single, so I wasn't really sure how to do it, but I have. I've made so many new friends and stayed in touch with old, and I'm so grateful for each and every one of them. I've learned the hard way to get rid of the negativity in your life, even if you think your comfortable, get rid of it. You will be a much happier person, trust me! I was given an awesome opportunity to move back towards Nashville for a job with my sister. I was born there and my dad's side of the family is still there, so it's always been my second home. I packed up in July and it was the best decision I could have made for myself at the time and I'm still truly happy I did. I have become a stronger, more independent woman during this transition and am so excited to see where 2014 will take me. I've got dreams to make happen! As sad as I am to say goodbye to 2013, I am so ready for 2014. As I'm reminiscing, I want to share them with y'all too! Here are some of my favorite memories of 2013.

Sorry for the photo overload! There were too many awesome things and I actually left a lot out! Hoping you had a wonderful 2013 and that 2014 is even better!

Dressed like a Present

Hello lovies! I have my Christmas Eve outfit to share with y'all today. I'm always too far behind but I still want to share it! My sister and I had this bright idea that we were going to make those DIY tutus........ Let's just say, they looked better in our heads than in real life! I think I might just have to suck it up and buy one that's already made! The ones I like, of course come with a hefty price tag for something you wouldn't wear very often. So, my mom actually let me open one of my gifts early because she knew this skirt would work perfectly. She was right! I just threw on a ribbon, gold accessories and my red bow heels and I felt like I was wrapped like a present. Since it was Christmas Eve, I was totally okay with that. We went to our church's Christmas Eve service, then headed to my grandparents house for our traditional dinner (prime rib and oh so many goodies). We then sit by the tree and fireplace and all take turns opening gifts. It's always a relaxing, enjoyable night.

Love my mamma!

First, my sister! Then my best friend and also my boss!

Two Pretty Manicures

Hi y'all! I wanted to share a couple more manicures of mine. The first one is one I did myself at home and the second is a gel manicure I got done at a salon. I know I've already told y'all before, but I have a nail polish addiction! I hate when my nails aren't painted! I wanted something festive but not exactly Christmas since it was still a couple weeks out from Christmas, so mint and gold glitter it was! One of my favorite nail looks is the confetti manicure! When it got closer to Christmas, I of course had to do red sparkly nails! Thanks to my awesome boss (and sister), she scheduled us to get our nails done as one of our employee Christmas gifts! How awesome is that? Well, here's the two looks!

Top manicure: "I need a refresh-mint", Wet n' Wild
"Gold's Night Out" OPI by Selena Gomez

Bottom manicure: I forgot to get the names of these! It's two separate red gel polishes. She used a metallic red for the 2 base coats and then topped them off with a sparkly top coat. When I was trying to pick a color, she suggested I go for this, she called the look "Dorothy's Ruby Slippers", which I totally agree!

It's been on almost 2 weeks and no chips yet! I love getting gel manicures because they last so much longer! I really wanted to get them redone for New Years but they still look good so I'll probably keep them for a little while more.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family & friends! I have several outfit posts coming! I didn't want to cram them all into the same post so they'll be posted separately. Thanks for reading! :)

How 'bout a Beauty Post?

Hey y'all! I haven't taken any outfit pictures since my last post but have a couple things I can share! First up, is a manicure I did about 2 weeks ago! It's very monochromatic with the black, white and silver, but I LOVED it! Pretty simple but it made a statement! Nails are the easiest way to do that! The next is my hair! My sister and I decided to try balayage. It's more natural looking than ombré. It's taken SEVERAL tries to get it to where it is now and thankfully, I'm happy with it!

Pretty Preppy

Hi y'all!

I totally forgot to post this outfit. It's actually from a month ago! Oops! This was when my hair was dark red! It was fun while it lasted. I wore this to a baby shower and then over to my dad's to celebrate his birthday. I love anything black & white, so this shirt is one of my favorites. I love how preppy it looks under this pink sweater and with pearls.

Thanksgiving 2013

Hi lovelies! Hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  My sister and I closed up shop so we could travel up to Ohio for our mom's side Thanksgiving. We also got to see all of our friends at our hometown bar!  Always good when you get to catch up with everyone. Then we traveled back to Nashville on Friday because our dad's side Thanksgiving was earlier today. My sister and I also held a baby shower for our cousin at our house today too. We've been super busy lately, we are exhausted. With Christmas coming up, there's no slowing down either! Blessed to busy though! Also, my sister and I decided to "honey-dip" our hair, late last Thursday night. Well... mine turned auburn. Luckily we were able to get it to a shade I was okay with keeping. (Only took THREE tries!) First try, I looked like carrot top- not a good look! I won't be keeping this look, though friends & family say they like it a lot, but it's just not what I was going for! So here's my lighter look & also posted my Thanksgiving day outfit.
